The New Yorker Lions beat the Swarco Raiders in a close game 28:33 (21:13; 7:7, 0:0, 0:13)
The Swarco Raiders hosted the highly anticipated game in front of 4.000 visitors. In the first half the offenses of both teams dominated. Both teams scored seemingly easily. In this phase of the game the Raiders made less mistakes and it looked as if they would be able to maintain their narrow lead. But in the second half the game was suddenly dominated by the defenses. The Quarterbacks were under increasing pressure.
Turning point of the game was a 4th down that was played by the Lions in the 4th quarter. Under heavy pressure the Lions Quarterback Timothy Enders was able to complete a pass that was then carried by Christian Bollmann into the end zone for a touchdown. Suddenly the Lions had the lead and the Raiders knew they had to score to win the game. The Raiders arched down the field and twice it looked as if they could do so successfully. Unfortunately for the Raiders both passes were dropped, leaving the Raiders with a hard loss.
It was an outstanding game on the highest level of American Football in Europe. The winner of Big6 Group B will be determined in the game between New Yorker Lions and Flash de la Courneuve.
