The BIG6 European Football League Blog: About Us

Hey, hey fans of American football across Europe! We are delighted and honored to have you here with us. After all, there are not many of us, European American football enthusiasts across the Old Continent, and we need to support each other and provide relevant, timely, and reliable information about the BIG6 European Football League and other major events.

Now, do you want to know who writes the posts on this blog? We think it is important to introduce ourselves and let our readers find out about our backgrounds and qualifications. The reason is that not everyone out there is proficient enough to comment on European American football. After all, it is not a common sport on the Old Continent, so there are not too many experts and trustworthy sources.

However, with us, there is no need to worry. We are both very experienced and proficient in the field of American football both in the US and in Europe. So, who are we?

Jeff: Living the Dream

My name is Jeffrey, or simply Jeff. Instead of the regular introduction, I would like to start by saying that I am absolutely living out my dream. Originally from the state of Arkansas, US, I moved to Europe while I was in college.

I came here to study on a sports scholarship as an American football player. Interestingly enough, I was surprised to find out that the football team at my college was not as good as I expected. Little did I know that Europeans were much more fascinated with soccer.

However, I was not willing to give up. I went around the campus trying to recruit more players for our American football team. Soon enough, my efforts came to fruition. I gathered a full-blown team with a waiting list of almost 50 people, not to mention the countless fans and the awesome cheerleader squad. Oh, those were days of glory!

Once college was over, I decided to stay in Europe because I saw the immense potential to popularize American football on the Old Continent. I now work with young people across high schools and colleges in several countries. Many of the kids that I have trained have already built successful American football careers in the US. Some of them are now prominent players in the BIG6 European Football League, which is the topic of this blog.

Viviane: Looking for the Next Challenge

I am Viviane, and I am the reason why our pal Jeff stayed in Europe after he graduated from college. He might tell you that American football made him remain here, but that is completely untrue. See, Jeff and I met in university. Jeff was trying to recruit players for our American football college team, which – to be honest – was in quite a dire state before he showed up. At the time, I was a journalism student who reported on sports news and events on our campus.

The passion in Jeff’s eyes soon got me as well, and I decided I needed to help the guy. I ran news stories and publicity campaigns to help him recruit players and fans. I even started a cheerleading team in support of the university’s American football squad.

Needless to say, somewhere along the lines of all this, Jeff and I became a couple. To this day, he has not lost his passion for promoting American football in Europe, and I have not given up on supporting him. Therefore, it is safe to say that this blog is the brainchild of our love for each other and American football.
